I am opposed to burbot being introduced into lakes that they never before existed. I have noticed a huge decline in great panfish since their introduction and although some claim they are great eating, I would rather eat my bait as it rots on a hot summer day. Not only am I opposed to them I would like to see them taken off of the game fish list and placed with carp and suckers so bow fishermen can help us thin out this nuisance. I remember back years ago in Ontario when they along with eels became quick garden mulch maybe we should bring back the olden days and continue with that tradition before these things take over, Who fishes strictly for these hiddeous things? Don't mean to offend anyone if there is anyone who likes these fish but I will ask why they like them.

iam apossed to introducing any fish into a lake it didnot originate from. the burbot has a place in the chain and by removing it problems may result. the fish is excellent table fare with tasty white meat. i have never eaten one myself but know others who love them. while i do not particularly love them they fight like crazy and when i do catch one i treat it with the same respect i would a walleye i was releasing.
