Hey all hardwater anglers, I am in ice fishing country here on Lake Dauphin early ice fishing is awesome if you can stomach it as soon as 3 or 4 inches hits were on the lake and fishin is great! The water is high this year so im hoping it is gonna be another good year for it, nothing like watchin schools of minnows swim under your feet and being 3/4 of a mile off shore and fishing on the edge of open water. Lake dauphin is shallow so it is usually the first lake to freeze in the area and its usually pretty good, dont need the auger just pail, rods, chisel, and a couple dozen live minnows and hope for the best.

Just to give everyone the heads up Jiffy Ice Augers are gonna be the cheapest this year then they have been in the last 6 years so if your thinking about it this is the year to buy. Only 1-2 months away from Hardwater fishing and getting excited, just got back from northern manitoba moose hunting and fishing. Shot a young bull moose and caught tons of big walleye, great time had by all.
