I have fished L. Nipissing for 35 years, most of it was during the 2nd two weeks in june.Although I have never fished it in Aug., but from what I hear from the native Nipissing, it's about the same. The walleye fishing is 2nd to none. Do not exempt 10lb walleye (you might catch a 7-8lb)they run from 2lb to 5lb.They love live bait(worm, leach, Minnies, on a jig). Generaly they stay around rock reefs in 20-24 feet, make sure you are fishing on the bottom. Here is what I do. Find them frist, then anchor over them, get a jig that is blaze orange & white, With a trailer hook, feed a worm from the top hook(on jig) down to the trailer hook. Cast it out as far as you can, let it hit bottom, start your retrive by slowly draging the bottom, reel in slack, repeat the slow drag, reel in , do this right up to the boat. Most of my fishing is done at the south Bay area, I have never fished the area you have mentioned. I have about 15 way points on my G.P.S. of hot spots, you may want to take a G.P.S. along as they can save you an extremly lot of time. Good luck. Let me khow if I can be of any other help....Happy Fishing
