Well, I have only had the opportunity to get out fishing twice this year (so far), but both times were amazing. In the first day, we caught well over 100 walleye and some large northern pike.
The biggest walleye was 30" and about 9lbs. However, most of the fish fell in to the 17-19" class.
The biggest northern that we caught was 38" and about 15lbs.

That was an abnormal day of fishing, but it is nothing for me to catch 20 or 30 fish in a matter of a few hours. Northern Lights Lake is where its at....
The MNR did a study on the lake and found that there are abnormal amounts of large female fish. Biggest one i ever caught was 11lbs, but has seen a couple in the 13 and 14lb range.
The lake produces many walleye, smallmouth bass, lake trout, northern pike, whitefish, burbot and perch.

there is Road Access. It is southwest of Thunder Bay, Ontario. There is a full-service resort on the lake.
It is approximately 130 KMs from Thunder Bay and about 90Kms from the Pigeon River border crossing into Minnesota.

Hi Salmon; Long drive from Cambridge and with all the salmon expected in Lake O is it really worth the drive. Theres nothing like the fight of the big salmon as you know. Actually I'm on my way to Marie Lake in Alberta to do a little walleye fishing with my son . Marie lake is near Cold lake . I get a nice visit and some good walleye fishing. ;D ;D ;D
