I have to say I love shore fishing. Mind you I'm kinda biased, because I don't have a boat. It about the only way some of us can get out and do some fishing with out breaking the bank.

It depends on what your fishing for but for myself if i am shore fishing all i ever use are slip bobbers and lindy riggs, the odd time if i go for pike i will toss some spoons out there.fishing for Rainbow trout i use a lindy rigg, if fishing in a stream or a river i use a slip bobber, spoons and jigs are good for fishing off beaches and stuff with little snaggs. any more questions go to www.rockbottomfishinghole.com go to chat and post your question there.

Hey what's up guys...new tothe site, not too sure how I got the invite to join...but I did, either way, shore fishing's all i do. I do have a boat, but I prefer trekking through the endless bush we have in the area surrounding our bodies of water to find the forgotten little hole that's full o' fish......what kind of fish y'all fish for in your respective areas ? For me, it's Pike, Walleye, Bass and Muskies.......

I've been doing the same thing, trekking throught the bush. Don't know if I'm going to do it for a while though. The wood tick in NW Ontario are really bad this year. Their soooo much worse than the flies. The flies only bit, but the ticks ya just can't get the stupid things off ya once they sink their teeth into ya. Hate the Fu^&@n things. Its so creepy when you pull of your shirt and there is 5 of those things stuck to your stomach.

Fishing out of a boat once in a while is enjoyable, especially trolling for big Pike, but since I live right on the Red here in Southern Manitoba, I fish a lot off shore right in my own back yard. Real quiet south of winnipeg here, just bush on both sides of the river, not much if any boat traffic. Master angler Cats, walleye, Pike, Goldeye etc. right here at home. another good thing about shore fishing here, we can drink beer at the same time, yee haw. Ice fishing too here, caught a 32.25" Walleye through the ice in March last year. Crazy mosquitoes right now though! Happy fishing!

I am all about not fishing from a boat but I think you can do a little better with a pair of waders. If you think it is too shallow for your rigs than you can wade out past that (after you fish it) and fish the deeper water. Sprawl-Mart and the "Tire" have boot foot rubber waders in the $50-$70 range....(and I can't count the number of times i have seen fish mishandled on the catch or release because someone didn't want to get their shoes wet)

$50-75??? That's pretty cheap. I saw some at canadian tire for $200, but I passed on them because they were too much $$$$$$$$$$$!!!!!!!!

I just bought a pair of hipwaders from Canadian Tire. $69.99 plus tax. I think it came to $80. I can hardly wait to try em on.
